2012-2013 School Year is Approaching

We hope you are all having a wonderful summer and staying cool with these crazy hot temps.  Mrs. Hamilton has spent most of her summer in Moscow, Russia experiencing lower than normal temps.  Either way the summer is coming to a close.  We are both so excited for the 2012-2013 school year.  Below are some important dates that are quickly approaching:

Kinder Camp:
Week A:  July 30- August 3
Week B:  August 6-10

Open House:
August 16   5-7pm
*Please bring your child's school supplies to Open House. Remember to label your child's supplies with a sharpie marker.

School Starts:
Tuesday, August 21st (No School on Mondays)

Looking forward to seeing your child at Kinder Camp.

Important Dates to Note

Spring Break: Thursday, April 5th- Monday, April 9th
(Classes resume on Tuesday, April 10th)

April 16th is a school day. We have a five day school week this week to accommodate our students taking the MCA tests. :) Get lots of rest so you can learn ALL five days! :)

May 23rd is our school wide reward day: Outside picnic with water games! YAY!

May 30th is Kindergarten Graduation at 2:00pm in the Elementary Gym

May 31st is the Kindergarten Picnic in the park!

May 31st is the last day of school!

I LOVE to Read Month!






Last week was the beginning of "I LOVE to Read" Month! Here are a few pics of Kindergartener kids who were spotted reading! We also prepared for Valentine's Day! Don't forget to bring your Valentine's on Tuesday! :)

Reading Unit 5: Animals




This week our small groups have been practicing reading with books about baby animals. Today in Mrs. Patterson's class we took some time to read to a few furry friends. :)

We're making special projects for you!







We've been working on some special Christmas art projects that will be completed and sent home before Christmas! Some of you may have some pretty special gifts under your trees! :)

Gingerbread House Day!




Thursday, December 8th our Kindergartners tried creating their own gingerbread houses, with the help of several parent volunteers and HUGE amounts of frosting!
