The First Week

Our first week of Kindergarten went by fast! We designed hats with our first initial on them, we made Chester puppets and our classrooms are decorated with buses that the students made. In reading we learned the word "I". The students learned a new poem called "I See A Classroom". See if your student can remember how it goes. We also learned the rhyme "To Market, To Market". We practiced counting words when we said that rhyme. In calendar we learned a song to help us learn the months of the year. Next week we will learn a song that will help us learn the days of the week. In math we read about a messy monkey that needed to sort her toys so her room would be clean. We practiced sorting and found that we were very good at sorting by color.

I hope you enjoy having three days at home with family and friends and are ready to go early Tuesday morning!
Have a nice weekend,
Mrs. Patterson

*Mrs. Samuelson had her baby and is planning on returning after MEA in October. : )
